Where to find commercial cleaning tenders
Search the official notice services and follow the buyer’s link to the specification and submission portal. Search by service, buyer and region: cleaning can be bundled into estates or facilities-management contracts. Alerts help you find notices, but the buyer’s documents determine what you can bid for.
Choose work your team can actually deliver
A useful early contract usually matches services you already provide and can be supported by current references, insurance and a realistic mobilisation plan. Check whether specialist or regional lots exist before assuming you can bid for part of a larger contract.
- Office and commercial premises: check site numbers, opening hours, security access and consumables.
- School cleaning: check term-time and holiday schedules, safeguarding requirements and cover arrangements.
- Housing and communal areas: check resident access, travel between sites and the boundary between cleaning and waste services.
- Council estates: check whether the scope includes grounds, hygiene, waste collection or other facilities services.
Make a bid-or-skip decision before writing
Record the deadline, lot, service area, start date and mandatory requirements. Compare those with your current delivery capacity and evidence. A large headline value is not a reason to bid if the contract cannot be delivered profitably.
- Eligibility: can you evidence the required experience, insurance, accreditations and financial position?
- Staffing: what does the tender say about TUPE, supervision, training and absence cover?
- Cost: include labour, travel, equipment, materials, mobilisation and management time.
- Delivery: can you service every site at the required frequency without stretching existing work?
- Uncertainty: ask the buyer through its official clarification process before the cut-off.

For a specific tender, the £49 Tender Fit Check gives you a bid/no-bid score, evidence gaps, key risks and a recommendation before you commit days to writing. It does not guarantee eligibility, a live suitable opportunity or an award.
